TGIF Freebies.

Let me tell you. The best way to learn is to review how great designers produce their work THEN make your own with their tricks, tips, and methods.  Doing the research on what is out there helps you learn about the current trends so designs do not become boring through use. click image for download site/or download will start automatically (all have been tested)

until next week! happy designing!

the middle of the week

It’s Wednesday! For those who are pessimists…. your week is half empty. Optimists, half filled!

Since it’s midweek, I think I’m going to post three groups of things I enjoy. Visually, of couse.

G1 // Photography

How beautiful black and white photography is. The focus is no longer on the color but on the contents of the image. Actually I take it back, I find myself filling the color in as I’m sensing the mood and environment of the image. Rodney Smith, your photography is suave. PLEASE PLEASE take time to check out his portfolio. You’ll be blown away.

Jim Denevan has sense of things. His ability to imagine an ariel view and transfer it to earth, sand, food, etc. is intriguing and mind boggling. I’d love to stumble upon some of his work…

Koning was created in a foreign language. I’d try to explain this awesomeness but I think I’d rather stare and let it interpret itself.

Yapppppppppy by Omar Alza abi. Reminds me of my hamster…May she RIP.

I love when an artist steers away from the traditional canvas. Beautiful things happen.

G2 // Industrial design (or just clever inventions)

The Light Room

Do they make this in adult size? The Construction Quilt, is the all in one for children. Blanket, toy, fort, hideout, toy, did I mention very cool?!

Been studying too hard? Couldn’t fork out the time to brush your teeth? Fear not! EDIBLE PEN can save your breath… hm…questionable but extra extra fun.

Moonjelly light fixtures is the epitome of sophistication, elegance, serenity, and gentle tones all mixed into a light fixture. Let me have it or teach me the DIY way please!

G3 // Architecture

Igloo resort in Switzerland.

Lastly, a few words of inspiration from Steve Jobs as he unveils the “Think Different” campaign.

Thumbnail inspirations seem to be the main focus of many creative web communities. Sites like dribbble, Forrst, and designmoo feature extremely high quality work in progress pieces by current designers out there. Projects range from identity, illustrations, web, applications, to icons, buttons, and just beautiful art. Below are a few I have collected for this week.

Until next week, enjoy!

A bit of this & that on a stormy Monday…

Something funny for a not so sunny day.

Aled Lewis // Toy Stories is a hilarious series about inanimate toys. It’s part of his Make Something Cool Everyday project. Awesomely clever!

not JUST a video

DEB ROY : a birth of a word TED video is fascinating and mind boggling. What were my first words??

simply genius

what more can you ask for? a desktop stand that holds all of your gadgets… & doesn’t look cheesy. Unfortunately, this is only a project done by a 19-year old art student from Art Center College of Design in L.A. His project, polyply was a brilliant idea to organize the mess these endless apple gadgets seem to be causing on people’s desk. He calls it his “quick 2 week long project,” okay, I say, “come organize my office. Thanks :)”
